Feed Your Neighbor Sunday

...Love Your Neighbor as Yourself.

NEXT DATE: Sunday, May 6

Feed Your Neighbor Sunday is a church-wide food drive - a way that our family can communicate God's Love to the community through the actions of our church. Our church's food pantry ministry, Messiah's Market, has the goal to help end hunger in our community. Right now, growing numbers of our neighbors are in need:

• Locally hunger has grown 30% in the past year.
• In Northern Virginia 1 in 6 children are at risk of going hungry.
• The Blue Ridge Area food bank reports that nearly 40% of its clientele are children.
• Over half of families facing hunger have at least one working adult.

Messiah's Market is a front line resource to end hunger in Loudoun County, serving nearly 2,500 men, women and children.

Help your church ministry meet the growing need. The stretch goal is for every man, woman and child of this church to bring 5 lbs. of food on specified dates.

It's easy! Simply pick up a bag located at the entrances of the building. Fill it when you do your weekly shopping and bring with you to church. You don't even have to carry it inside! Place the groceries behind your car and we will take it from there!*

Suggested items - in order of most need: boxed cereals; pasta, rice, and beans; 'meal-helpers', canned vegetables, fruits, soups, and meats; 100% juices; baby food, formula, and diapers; and condiments.

Donations of new personal care and cleaning items are also accepted. Don't forget to check the dates - only unexpired, unopened items can be used. Thank you!

* In the event of inclement weather, drive-up drop stations will be set up at both entrances to the church.
